G 1982 - 1983 Chevrolet Malibu The G-body cars were the result of the A-body line being split between FWD and RWD in '82. FWD cars kept the A-body designation, while RWD cars became the G-bodies. The last G-body car was produced on 12-11-87. The Regal, Monte Carlo, Cutlass, and Grand Prix were referred to as A-specials (and G-specials after '82.) Some Monte Carlos and Cutlasses were sold as 1988 models, but were actually built in 1987.
